gifbgremover.com is designed so that your files are yours alone. Every step — decoding, background removal, and encoding — happens inside your browser using your device's CPU/GPU. Your GIFs are never uploaded to any server.

What we process on your device

  • GIF files you drop, select, or paste are read by JavaScript running in your browser tab.
  • If you use an AI method, a machine-learning model is downloaded once from the Hugging Face CDN and cached by your browser for future visits. Your images are still processed locally — the model comes to your device, your files do not go to it.

What we collect

  • No accounts, no uploads, no file contents, no file names.
  • No analytics or tracking scripts are currently in use on this site.
  • Standard web-server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) may be kept briefly by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and reliability.

Third-party requests

  • AI model files: huggingface.co and its CDN, only when you choose an AI method.
  • WASM runtime files: cdn.jsdelivr.net, only when an AI method runs on the CPU backend.
